New Shooting Range Opens in Eatonton

 

A new shooting range at Cedar Creek Wildlife Management Area will be available beginning Friday, October 14, 2011 for those interested in perfecting their target skills. 

That's according to a Georgia Department of Natural Resources news release.

While this is the first shooting range located at the Cedar Creek WMA, it is one of 17 shooting ranges currently available on public land in Georgia.

The new range is located in the Georgia Piedmont near Eatonton.

The Cedar Creek Shooting Range consists of a 10-position, 100-yard rifle/pistol range.

Fitness Center Comes to Jeffersonville

Jeffersonville welcomes a new business to town.  In these times of a down and out economy, when small business owners are closing down, a local couple has opened a fitness center in down town Jeffersonville in Twiggs County.   Kinetix is a 24 hour fitness center equipped with cardio machines, circuit equipment, and free weights.  The fitness center is located at 511 Rail Road Street and is nestled in between Twiggs Times office and Middle Georgia Probation LCC offices.  The fitness center is equipment with a large variety of free weights, 14 weight machines, and 10 cardio machines.  The Center is also equipment with 24 hour video monitoring for safety, separate men and women restrooms, and flat screen TVs in each room.  Members are given a key card that can be scanned 24 hours a day.

Georgia National Fair is set for October 6-16 this year.

October 6 opening day: Sneak-a-Peek Day

             Open 3-10 p.m.

             Admission $5, kids (10 & under) get in free with a paying adult.

Pay-One-Price Rides: Open 3:00 pm; $13.00 unlimited rides.

Opening ceremony takes place at 4 p.m.
