Huddle House Agrees to Comply with Minimum Wage Law

 

ATLANTA – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has identified significant violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act and has obtained remedies for them at 28 Huddle House restaurants in Georgia, Missouri and West Virginia. Corporate franchisor Huddle House Inc. has agreed to facilitate compliance among all its franchisee-operated restaurants as well as to assist the division in promoting industrywide compliance with the FLSA.

That's according to a U.S. Department of Labor news release.

In addition, minimum and overtime back wages totaling $60,594 will be paid to 128 employees. Finally, the division assessed $48,317 in civil money penalties for repeat and child labor violations.

Georgia National Fair is set for October 6-16 this year.

October 6 opening day: Sneak-a-Peek Day

             Open 3-10 p.m.

             Admission $5, kids (10 & under) get in free with a paying adult.

Pay-One-Price Rides: Open 3:00 pm; $13.00 unlimited rides.

Opening ceremony takes place at 4 p.m.

Parade Honors Local Hero, Welcomes Home

Saturday, 3 September 2011, a parade to honor Tony and his family begins noon. 

The parade route begins at the corner of Commerce St and Progress Ave going East.

The parade route passes Veterans Park and continues on West on Broad St.

The main event will be held in the gym at the Hawkinsville High School located on Red Devil Drive. 

A meet and greet will follow the speaking event.

During the Meet and Greet, entertainment will be provided by DJ BS Music “Brian Smith”.

Plan to join in food and fun while  welcoming a wounded warrior HOME.
