Poll Results: Jeffersonville Sunday Liquor Sales Rejected by One Vote

8:35 p.m. Sunday liquor sales rejected by one vote, 90 people voted against it, 89 people voted for Sunday liquor sales.

7:55 p.m. 52% vote yes for Sunday liquor sales in Jeffersonville. That's with 50% of precincts reporting.

Polls closed at 7 p.m.

The office of U.S. Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08) will hold mobile office hours for residents across Georgia’s Eighth Congressional district. 

Caseworkers and field representatives from Rep. Scott’s office will be on hand to help with issues ranging from Medicare and Social Security to veterans benefits. 

Constituents are encouraged to stop by during the times listed below —no appointment is necessary.

'Super Tuesday' Voters Will Decide Question in Jeffersonville

Gingrich, Paul, Santorum and Romney won't be the only choices here in Central Georgia on March 6, Super Tuesday.

Voters in Jeffersonville will vote on Sunday liquor sales.

Of course, voters everywhere in the state can vote on Georgia's Republican presidential primary, which includes Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum and several other candidates.

To vote for President Obama, ask for the democratic ballot.

Polls are open 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on March 6. Voters must show a valid photo ID to cast a vote.

Friends of the Sheriff's Office Meeting Update

 The Friends of the Twiggs County Sheriff's Office held their March meeting on March 1st 2012 at 6:00PM at the Sheriff's Office. 

 The Friends of agreed to pay $250 for the annual Sheriff's Office Easter Egg Hunt to be held on March 31st at the county pond property.  The Friends also approved to pay for departmental polo shirts for all the 911 dispatchers and office staff.  Payment pending so that Major McDaniel can submit an invoice.

An invoice was submitted to the Friends of to pay for an entrance rug with the Sheriff's Office logo.  Invoice submitted was for $226.00. The Friends of made a total of $1,815.00 on the gun raffle.The raffle was held and the winner was Mr. Casey Carden of Danville Ga. ………..Congratulations.

Jason Hobbs, 44, knew he wanted to be a musician ever since he was a little boy.

And it was only natural. The Twiggs County resident with Bleckley County ties said that music has been a part of every event, everything at his house, for a long time.

“I grew up with music all around me. My dad was in a band in the 50s, and we always had music at our house,” Hobbs said.

A benefit for the Georgia Special Olympics, The Geico 5K Road Race, is set for Saturday, March 3rd.
