Debra Brown

Funeral arrangements for Sister Debra Brown will be: Visitation for friends and family on Monday evening from 6pm till 8 pm at Reece Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, Ga. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 3:00PM at the Chapel of Reece Funeral Home.

Jeffersonville Church of God will host a lunch meal on Tuesday for the family (approximately 40 guests ) at the Church Fellowship Hall upstairs at half past noon.

June Keys

Decatur-June Sims Keys, born in Jeffersonville, Georgia on July 13, 1935 passed away peacefully on February 22, 2013. Mrs. Keys was the daughter of the late James Robert Sims and Elizabeth Sapp Sims. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years James Franklin Keys Jr. as well as eight brothers and four sisters.

Carrie Irene Johnson Wheeler

Carrie Irene Johnson Wheeler, age 91, passed away on February 24, 2013 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. A Memorial service will be held at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street on February 27, 2013 at 12:00PM, with The Reverends Jody and Julie Long officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, North Gate. Ms. Wheeler was born on April 12, 1921 in Sparta, Georgia and graduated from Sparta High School in 1939. She moved to Macon in 1947 where she was employed at Robins AFB in what was then the Directorate of Procurement. Ms. Wheeler was a member of the First Baptist Church of Christ and the Believer’s Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, crafts, gardening, and shopping. She was an avid bridge player and a regular follower of Atlanta Braves baseball. Ms.

Virginia Wade Hallett

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Virginia Wade Hallett, 103, of Cochran who died Monday, January 14, 2013 will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Price and Rev. Alan Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Hallett was born in Twiggs County, the daughter of the late Hayward and Martha Findley Wynne. She was the widow of Fulton Frank Wade and Lloyd Hallett. She was retired from Robins A.F.B. and the oldest member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a member of Perry Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Adair (Jerry) Rambo of Cochran; son, Wyndell (Nell) Wade of Kathleen; five grandchildren, Ricky Wade of Kathleen, Ken (Liz) Wade of Winston-Salem, NC, Don Rambo, Mike (Becky) Rambo and Scott Rambo, all of Cochran; six great grandchildren.

Eugene Long

 

Funeral services for Mr. Eugene T. Long, 76, of Twiggs County who died Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Dublin will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Moore officiating. Burial will be in ElSharath Cemetery.

Mr. Long was a lifelong resident of Twiggs County, the son of the late John Lee Long and Lois Viola Hill Long Carswell. He was retired from Twiggs County Road Department and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Hogan and Annie Mae Hill Long and a brother, John Willie Long.

Survivors include a brother, Jeff (Debra) Long of Cochran; sisters, Mary Ellen Long and Thelma Lee (Willie) Long, both of Twiggs County, Annie (Arthur) Jackson of Danville and Margie (George) Bowen of Cochran.

The family will meet friends following the service.

Jimmy Amerson

 

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Amerson, 88, of Cochran who died Saturday, November 10, 2012 in Heart of Georgia Nursing Home in Eastman will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 12, 2012 in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

 Mr. Amerson was born in Twiggs County, the son of the late John Andrew Amerson and Lula Kitchens Amerson. He was the widow of Ophelia Daniel Amerson. He was a retired farmer and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Gail (Jerry) McNair of Cochran; son, James T. Amerson, Jr. of Cochran; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
