A judge has officially ruled in favor of Twiggs County residents who fought to keep their homes amid a lawsuit from a Colorado man seeking 400 acres of land.

Judge Jon Helton signed off on Special Master Jim Nelson's ruling that found that Allan Evans had no valid claim to any of the more than 40 residents' properties, either by physical deed or possession.

The ruling also included an injunction that would prevent Evans or anyone in his family from filing suit against the residents again.

The ruling was a victory for the residents, who mostly lived on Old Gordon Road in Dry Branch.  Judge Helton has issued a hearing set for 9 a.m. on November 13th to discuss legal feels, litigation, and court costs.  Evans has been ordered to come from Colorado for the hearing at the Twiggs County Courthouse in Jeffersonville.
