Jeffersonville water problems close Twiggs Co. Schools
News

Twiggs County Schools were closed Wednesday due to a problem with the Jeffersonville water system.

Jeffersonville Mayor Shannon Hart says at about 7:00 Wednesday morning, the pump that pumps water into the city's water tower failed, decreasing water pressure throughout the city.

Hart says city workers repaired the pump, and it was functioning normally around 8 a.m.

Mary McCollough, Chief Finance Officer of Twiggs Public Schools, told 13 WMAZ that all schools within the Twiggs School District will be closed Wednesday, due to the low water pressure.
