Prep preview: Twiggs County | HS Sports
Twiggs County football players are putting the last season behind them.
The Cobras are running into what they hope will be a much better year, with the guidance of a familiar face.
Head coach Dexter Copeland is back, after leaving the program in 2010 to coach at Baldwin High School. Copeland led Twiggs to the playoffs seven times as a head coach in the 2000's; now he's trying to turn around a program that went 2-8 last year.
"We're trying to break the loser's mentality that we have around here," Copeland said. "[We're] trying to change the culture. It's going to be a slow change. [We're] trying to build a foundation first before we see success."
Twiggs County kicks off September 5th at home against East Laurens High School.
