Former Cobra Dennard ready for NFL Draft | HS Sports
It has been a busy few months for one Central Georgia football player who returned home after completing his college career as an all american, the top defensive back in the country nabbing the Jim Thorpe award and topping it off with a degree from Michigan State this past weekend.
Former Twiggs County standout Darqueze Dennard visited with family and friends Wednesday afternoon at his home in Dry Branch. The recent Spartan grad is back just in time to celebrate his entry in Thursday nights NFL draft.
Many pro scouts predict Dennard will be one of the top corners taken, quite possibly in the first round.
With all the excitement, the proud member of the "No Fly Zone" says he's just taking it all in and proud to represent Twiggs County and all of Central Georgia.
Round one of the NFL draft is Thursday night in New York City.
