Holiday Organizing Tip #21: Charge the Batteries

Holiday Organizing Tip #21: Charge the Batteries

Make sure your rechargeable batteries are charged and that you have  extra batteries on hand for all of your electronics. Don’t let that special moment pass you by because you are struggling to get your camera to work!

Holiday Organizing Tip #7 - Think of Others

Holiday Organizing Tip #7 - Think of Others

Think of others over the holiday season. Volunteer at soup kitchen. Buy gifts for a toy drive or angel tree. Send a care package to a soldier oversees (http://soldiersangels.org/).

Holiday Organizing Tip #6 - Pare Down the Decorations

Holiday Organizing Tip #6 - Pare Down the Decorations

When you put out your Christmas decorations, do you have a few lone items that can’t seem to find a home?  Don’t let them just live in a box year after year, get rid of them! Donate them to Goodwill or a local women’s shelter. Share the holiday spirit with others and keep your valuable storage space available for the items you truly love!

Holiday Organizing Tip #3 - Edit the Master Calendar

Holiday Organizing Tip #3 - Edit the Master Calendar

The holidays can be extremely busy times. When making your master family Holiday calendar, consider which events are “Must attends” like your daughter’s band concert, which are “Would be nice to attend” like the town Christmas parade and which are “I would rather have a root canal than attend” like your neighbor’s annual open house. If there are events that you can edit out of your schedule with gentle excuses, you will make the holidays more about spending time with the people you love doing things you love to do.

I love my label maker. There, I’ve admitted it (that's the first step, right?). My Brother P-Touch label maker makes me happy. I use it to label file folders in the office, flour and sugar canisters in the pantry and containers in my craft closet. I’ve been known to label baggies with camera cords and checkbooks for different accounts. Label makers are relatively cheap and make a big difference in the space where I live. How about you? What is your favorite thing to label? And what is the most unique thing you’ve ever labeled? Once my daughter used my label maker to print “I love you” and she stuck in on my check book. Awww…..
