Paper Purge: Toss Your Phone Books

Paper Purge: Toss Your Phone Books

Be honest how often do you use the traditional phone book and yet you keep the 6 that seem to show up on your doorstep every year. Most people are more likely to pull out their smart phone to look up a phone number than the yellow pages.

Getting Your Kids' Papers Under Control: Landing Zone

Getting Your Kids' Papers Under Control: Landing Zone

Have a landing place for your kids' book bags and papers. A hook and an envelope or a bin can be a simple solution. Work with your kids to remember that this is where their book bags lives once homework is done and you’ll have to train them to put their papers and agendas in the bin. Teaching them responsibility for their belongings at an early age (and later ones too!) will be a great service to your children. You can even work their kids storage area into your family command center

Don't Resolve to Get Organized This Year

Don't Resolve to Get Organized This Year

Did you resolve to “get organized” in 2014? Would you think I was crazy if I told you, please don’t make that your resolution? No, really. The general idea of “getting organized” can be so overwhelming that you put the brakes on your forward progress before you even begin.

Shine On In 2014

Welcome to 2014! Did you make resolutions for the new year? Have you broken your resolutions already? Whether you have or haven’t, the new year marks a time when we often decide we want to start fresh, make changes and generally improve ourselves to be better human beings.

For the past  few years instead of making resolutions, I've tried to set goals for myself and come up with a theme word to serve as my mantra for the rest of the year. Abundance and growth were my theme words for the past two years and both served well as focal points for my goals and aspirations.
