Jeffersonville's Harvest Festival celebrates the town's agricultural and rural roots.

The weekend celebration starts on Friday, October 26 and features live music and fun for all ages.

Bands include: Josh Graff Band, Shane Bridges Band, Country Biscuit Band, Ignite Martial Arts, Jason Hobbs Band, Angels in Motion and theKey.

On Saturday, catch the 11 a.m. parade, Little Moe's Carnival with rides and the United States Air Force Reserve Band.

Twiggs County Board of Health will staff a booth and offer convenient access to flu shots. 

A 5K Run And See Georgia race begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday: RACE TO THE CENTER -- the geodesic center of the State of Georgia! 

The weekend of BBQ and competition all rolled into one returns during the Hambone Jam!

That's on September 7-8.

Friday, everything will be up and running by 4:30 and a band performs from 8-11 p.m.

Folks can walk around, enjoy the sites and smells of people cooking. People can purchase BBQ and food from vendors, but will not be able to taste test from the BBQ competition itself.

Bounce houses and other activities will be on site for kids to enjoy.

On Saturday, locals can enter their cars for a Cruise-In starting at 8 a.m. Entrance and showing your car is free.

BBQ judging takes place around 4:30 p.m.

A Norfolk Southern exhibit car from the 1920s will also roll in for Friday's events. Fort Valley was one of 11 chosen cities for this visit, according to event coordinator Kathie Lambert.

The Jeffersonville Volunteer Firefighting Team was the first certified firefighting team in the State of Georgia in August of 1962.

That's according to Jeffersonville Mayor Shannon Hart.

At 4 p.m. Monday, a reception at City Hall will honor the firefighters and their families on this Gold Anniversary. 

Representative Bubber Epps is slated to present the proclamation.
