Child Safety Seat Event Held at Twiggs Co. Schools

Child Safety Seat Event Held at Twiggs Co. Schools

On October 13th the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office held a joint teacher, parent, and student education lecture on the child safety and booster seats.  The lecture was conducted by Major Jamie McDaniel and Sgt. Joshua Hasty of the Sheriff’s Office.

About 15 parents and teachers attended the first lecture that covered the Georgia child safety seat law, requirements and regulations, the proper install and placement of safety seats, and how to secure your child inside a safety seat.   After the parent, teacher session deputies went from room to room lecturing to the children from grades 1st through 4th on the importance of riding in a safety seat or a booster seat when travelling in any vehicle.  Handouts were given to all the children to take home to their parents.

Jeffersonville Elementary Participates in "Let's Jump" Wednesday

Jeffersonville Elementary Participates in "Let's Jump" Wednesday

Jeffersonville Elementary School is set to participate in the nationwide initiative, "Let's Jump," led by Michelle Obama today at 2 p.m.

Jeffersonville Elementary School strives to encourage the development of each and every one of our students.  This includes academic, social, and athletic development.  In an effort to involve our students in a nation-wide accomplishment, we are participating in Let’s Jump.

Let’s Jump is an initiative led by First Lady Michelle Obama and National Geographic Kids.

The goal is to break the world record for the most number of people doing jumping jacks. They have a twenty-four hour window to complete the task.

The activity is simple.  We have to do jumping jacks for one minute nonstop.
