Easter Bunny Coming to Museum of Aviation

The Easter Bunny is coming to the Museum of Aviation March 30!  He will be at the Museum of Aviation National STEM Academy’s Annual “Spring Into Science” Workshop. The Museum is inviting Pre-K through 5th Grade students to the event which will be held from 9:00 am to Noon.  The cost is $30 per person.

Children who attend “Spring Into Science” will have a full morning of Science ‘EGGS-periments.’ An EGGS-ample would be turning a raw egg into a rubber egg.

“We will also have a visit from a very famous Bunny,” said Cindy Groves, workshop instructor. “The Bunny will here for photos with the children. The FUN day concludes with an EGG

hunt in our outdoor amphitheater. Make sure to bring your basket!”

Dance craze has roots in the '80s More than 4,000 'Harlem Shake' videos a day are posted on YouTube.

The song that spurred the craze is No. 10 on iTunes Gangnam Style is so last year: 2013's new dance craze is the Harlem Shake.

Habitat for Humanity Receives Grant to Build Three-Bedroom Home

REYNOLDS/WARNER ROBINS/UPATOI – Flint Energies in partnership with CoBank donated $5,000 to Houston County Habitat for Humanity.  The grant will allow the purchase of all the lumber needed to build a three-bedroom home.

The grant was given in part by CoBank’s “Sharing Success” matching grant program.  This program allows Colorado-based CoBank to join cooperative customers like Flint Energies from all over the US in building vibrant rural communities.

Flint Energies CEO Bob Ray stated, “Our commitment to community has been one of the cornerstones of our cooperative’s foundation and success.  Today, we are showing that commitment in action by donating funds to Houston County Habitat to ensure a foundation for successful homeownership.”

Twiggs High Organizations "Adopted" Family for the Holidays

Twiggs County High School organizations came together during Christmas to Adopt a Family as a community service project.

Students involved in the Twiggs County High Scool Career, Technical and Agricultural Education Department, FBLA, FFA and AFJROTC collected nonperishable food, toys and clothing throughout December.

Three days before Christmas, Family and Children Services picked up the items and delivered the goods to a family.
