Sheriff's Office Open House to Feature Tours, Demonstrations | Community Spirit
JEFFERSONVILLE, GA -- The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting Open House this weekend. Saturday Feb. 11th from 10am is until 2 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Office in Jeffersonville.
Please come out to meet and greet your local law enforcement. Bring the children.
There will be K-9 demonstrations, a tour of our offices, a tour of the equipment used such as the DUI trailer, the hazmat trailer, crime scene van, CSU quick response truck, CSU and patrol units, Sheriff’s hazmat tanker used by the fire departments, Twiggs County fire truck, GBI crime scene unit will be on hand as well as the Department of Natural Resources.
Free child safety seat inspections and demonstrations will be given.
The new Sheriff’s Office annex that houses the E911 center, records, crime lab, investigations, medical, and command staff will be open to the public with tours.
The Friends of the Sheriff’s Office will have booth and will be giving out information on how you can support your Sheriff’s Office by joining. They will also be selling raffle tickets for a shotgun to be given away on the 1st of March; and giving out refreshments.
Over the last two years the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office has received over $350,000 in federal grants. These grants were used to purchase much needed equipment. The new equipment will be on display and its uses will be explained.
