Members of MPD’s Tactical Support Unit (TSU) participated in Career Day at Jeffersonville Elementary School today along with the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department, the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Aviation Unit, and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

MPD’s Technical Support Unit provides communication for the MPD SWAT Team and other public safety agencies during missions, incidents and crisis situations. Participating in today’s Career Day event were TSU Commander Sgt. Ricky Wolverton and Officer James Litton, both of MPD’s Traffic Unit.

According to Sgt. Wolverton: “It’s great to work side-by-side with other agencies to educate area students about the role the TSU plays in public safety in Middle Georgia. We appreciate the opportunity to teach young  children about the support we provide during situations requiring rapid and precise communications.”
